About Walsingham House
Walsingham House is a residential care home in Nuneaton. Those living here include older people, adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We are home to younger adults as well, and we offer respite stays. A mixed household asks more of us rather than less. One routine will not suit everybody, so we work out individually what a good day looks like for each person. For some it is company and something going on. For others it is being left largely to themselves. Where somebody communicates differently, whether because of a sensory impairment or for another reason, we deal with that first and properly, because everything else we do rests on it. The Care Quality Commission currently rates us requires improvement. We mention it because a family should hear it from us rather than discover it afterwards. We train staff properly and supervise them, and we would rather a new member of the team worked alongside somebody experienced for longer than felt awkward. Anybody considering us should come without an appointment, talk to residents and relatives away from staff, and press us for specifics about what has changed.
