About Castle Brook
Castle Brook is a care home in Kenilworth, Warwickshire. We support older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia, people who live with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss, and we offer respite stays alongside our permanent places. Supporting such a range of people well means paying attention to the individual rather than running the house to one fixed pattern. We take time when somebody arrives to learn about their earlier life, their work, their family, their tastes and the ordinary habits that make a day feel like their own, and we plan their care around that rather than around our convenience. Residents choose their own routines as far as they are able, keep their own possessions around them, and have a genuine say in how they spend their time. Where sight or hearing loss makes it harder to follow what is going on, we adapt how we communicate and make sure people are not quietly left out. For those living with dementia we keep the surroundings calm and familiar and pair staff with residents consistently. Practically we help with washing, dressing, medication, meals, mobility and continence at whatever level each person needs, and we involve GPs, district nurses and other health colleagues promptly when something changes. Families are welcome here at any reasonable hour and we would much rather hear a worry early. If you are looking at homes in this part of Warwickshire, please arrange to visit and see how it feels.
