About The Old Post Office

The Old Post Office is a residential care home in Coventry supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people with mental health needs, including many younger adults. We are a household rather than an institution, and the people who live here have a genuine say in how the place is run. Because the needs here vary a great deal, we plan support one person at a time. Some residents want help with most of the day; others need very little practical help but rely on us for structure, encouragement and staff who understand how they communicate and what a bad day looks like for them. We spend time on that at the start and we listen to the people who know a person best. Daily life includes cooking, shopping, laundry, keeping your own room as you want it, deciding how to spend the weekend and getting out locally. We support people to do what they can themselves and we step in where we are genuinely needed. For residents with mental health needs, a calm and predictable house does more good than anything written in a plan, and we work closely with local services and doctors. Respite stays are available and give family carers a proper break. If you would like to see the home and talk to the staff, please get in touch and we will arrange a visit.
