About Wimbledon Common Care Home
Wimbledon Common Care Home is a residential care home in Wandsworth, London. We provide a settled home for older people and for younger adults whose needs are best met in a home of this kind. The people who live here have quite different needs, and we would rather adapt to them than run one routine and expect everybody to fit it. We support residents living with dementia, keeping the day calm and familiar and avoiding change without good reason. We support residents whose mental health needs shape the care they receive, with staff who know somebody well enough to notice early when things are shifting. And we support residents with physical disabilities and residents living with sight or hearing loss, adjusting how we communicate and how the home is used so that nobody is shut out of ordinary daily life. What does not vary is that this is somebody's home. People decide how their room looks, when they get up, what they eat and how the day goes. Care is given discreetly and with respect for privacy, and we support people to keep doing whatever they can still manage themselves. Visitors are welcome whenever suits them. Respite stays are available as well, for family carers needing a planned break and for people needing support after illness or a hospital stay. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and visit us.
