About Salisbury Road
We are a residential care home on Salisbury Road in Waltham Forest, supporting older people and younger adults, including adults with a learning disability or autism and people with physical disabilities. We also offer respite stays for people who need support for a period rather than a permanent move. Supporting people whose needs differ this much only works if you begin with the person. For some of those who live here what is wanted is largely practical, help with personal care, medication, meals and moving about. For others it is a day that runs to a shape they can rely on, notice before anything changes, and staff who understand that a particular routine is not a preference but the thing that makes the day manageable. Where physical disability is part of the picture, how somebody is helped to move and how much time is allowed makes the difference between being supported and being handled, and we expect our staff to get that right. We talk to the people we support, to their families and to the professionals who know them, and we build the support around what we learn rather than around what suits our rota. Where somebody can do something for themselves we would far rather they did. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Visitors are welcome. Please get in touch and we will arrange a time that suits you and your family.
