About Primrose Road
We are a residential care home on Primrose Road in Waltham Forest, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults. We also offer respite stays. Being a small home is our main advantage. Everybody knows everybody, staff spot when somebody is off colour, and there is no distance between the people living here and the people running it. People arrange their own rooms, have a real say in the food and the shopping, and are involved in how the place runs. Where somebody wants a job, a course or a club, we treat that as the purpose of our support rather than an extra added on. Being in London helps, because buses, colleges, work and places to meet people are all within reach. Predictability is something we take particularly seriously. For many of those living here, knowing exactly what is happening and who will be on shift is the difference between a settled day and a difficult one, so we plan ahead and explain changes early. The Care Quality Commission rates us good overall. We would rather answer for a difficult week honestly than present a smooth account of it.
