About Edward House Care Home

We are a residential care home in Waltham Forest, east London, supporting older people who need help with daily life, including people living with mental health conditions. We also offer respite stays for people who need support for a period rather than a permanent move. Older people living with mental health conditions are not always well served, and a good deal of what we do is simply making sure somebody is treated as a person with a history rather than as a set of symptoms. We take time to learn what a person's life has been like, what helps when things become difficult, what makes them worse and what they want from their days here. Alongside that, the ordinary things still matter most. Getting up when you are ready. Eating what you actually want. Staff who know your name and your family and can tell when you are not quite yourself. Help with washing, dressing and medication given in a way that does not diminish anybody. Families are welcome here and we would rather they came and went as they liked than visited at set times. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are a family member or a professional considering a place here, please come and see us. Contact us and we will arrange a visit at a time that suits you, and we will answer whatever you would like to ask.
