About Carmen Lodge
Carmen Lodge is a residential care home in Waltham Forest, London. We support older people and younger adults, including residents managing mental health conditions, and we offer respite stays. The house is not large, and we think that works in the residents' favour. Everyone who works here knows everyone who lives here, so support follows the individual rather than a fixed routine. What we try to provide is steadiness. Staff who know a person well enough to notice a change before it becomes a crisis. Support with medication and appointments that is dependable without being intrusive. Practical help with the ordinary business of a week where that is what somebody needs, and space to get on independently where it is not. People here have their own room, their own routine and a real say in how the house runs, which matters a great deal when so much else has already been decided for them. For residents living with a mental health condition we work closely with community mental health teams, general practitioners and social workers, and we are honest in those conversations, including when things are not going well. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
