About Toby Lodge
Toby Lodge is a residential care home in Tower Hamlets, and we support a wider range of people than most homes take on. Older people who need help with daily living. Adults with learning disabilities and autistic people. Adults living with mental ill health. Younger adults. People in recovery from problems with alcohol or drugs. Respite stays are available as well. A household like this only works if people are treated as individuals rather than as categories, and that is how we run it. Support is agreed with the person, written in terms they recognise, and reviewed as things change. Some residents need a great deal of practical help with washing, dressing, medication and mobility. Others mainly want a settled place to live, a team who do not judge, and a house that holds together when a bad week arrives. For people in recovery, and for those living with mental ill health, steadiness matters more than anything we could promise in writing. Recovery is rarely a straight line, and we plan for that rather than treating a setback as a failure on anybody's part. We are also interested in what people want beyond these walls. London has a great deal in it, and getting out to work, college, friends and the places somebody enjoys is part of what we support. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Families and professionals are welcome to visit and ask us whatever they need to know.
