About Hotel In The Park

Hotel In The Park is a care home in Tower Hamlets, in east London, whatever the name may suggest. We are a residential home, so our support is practical and social rather than clinical. We sit in one of the busiest and most mixed parts of the city, and the people living here reflect that. We support older adults and younger adults alongside one another. Some of the people here have a learning disability or are autistic. Others have a physical disability, or are blind or partially sighted, or deaf or hard of hearing. That range has taught us to communicate in more than one way, and to stop assuming that because we have said something it has been understood. We adapt the building, the information we hand out and the way we speak to the person in front of us rather than to an average. Being in the middle of the city is part of what we offer. Buses and markets, a mosque or a church, a park, a chip shop, a college course. Several of the people here go out most days, with support or without it, and that independence is the point rather than a risk to be managed away. We offer respite as well as permanent places, including trial stays for anyone unsure about moving. The Care Quality Commission rates us good overall. If you are looking for somewhere for yourself or a relative, come and visit, and talk to the people who live here rather than only to us.
