About The Crescent
The Crescent is a residential home in Telford for adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults and people with mental health needs. We offer planned respite stays as well as longer placements. We are deliberately small, which means the people living here know each other and know the staff, and nobody has to explain themselves from scratch each time they come downstairs. For a lot of people that takes some pressure off straight away. Support is planned around the person. For one resident that means a calm and very predictable week with plenty of warning before anything changes; for another it means being out and about in Telford, keeping up with work, college, clubs and family. Both are proper lives and both take thought to support well. With autistic people in particular we pay close attention to routine and to the sensory side of the environment, because those details tend to decide how a day goes. Respite placements are planned with the same care as any other stay, and give families a genuine break. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather tell you that ourselves. We know the areas that were identified, we are working through them with the staff team, and if you visit we will be honest about what has improved and what is still outstanding. Please do come and see The Crescent if you are considering it for someone.
