About The Bungalow

We are a small residential home in Telford supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people. Being small lets us run as a household rather than a service. The people who live here have their own rooms and their own things, and they take part in deciding how the house works: what is cooked, when meals happen, what gets bought and where everyone goes at the weekend. For adults who have often had little say in daily life, that ordinary degree of control is much of the point of the place. Support is built around each person and what they want to be able to do, whether that is work, college, volunteering, getting out regularly, keeping up with family, managing money with a hand from staff or learning to do more around the house. Predictability counts for a great deal here, so we keep staffing as consistent as we can and try not to change arrangements without warning and explanation. Respite stays are available as well as longer places. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was requires improvement. We prefer to say so plainly rather than leave you to discover it. We are working through the matters the inspectors raised and are willing to go through the report with anyone considering the home. Please come and visit. Meeting the people who live here will tell you more than anything we can write.
