About Ridgeway House
We are a residential care home in Swindon supporting adults with mental health needs, and we also offer respite stays. Much of what we do comes down to stability. Many of the people who come to us have been through periods of upheaval, hospital admissions or living arrangements that broke down, and what helps most is a settled home, a routine they can rely on and staff who are still here next month. We support people with medicines, appointments, personal care where it is wanted, cooking, budgeting and the ordinary business of running a life, without taking those things over. We work closely with community mental health teams, care coordinators and GPs, and we treat reviews as a real opportunity rather than a form to complete. When somebody is becoming unwell, acting early makes a considerable difference, so our team are trained to notice changes and raise them straight away. Recovery means different things to different people. For some it means moving on to their own tenancy in time, and we will work towards that honestly and at their pace. For others it means staying well, staying out of hospital and having a home they need not worry about losing. Both deserve our full effort. Respite stays are available and are planned properly rather than treated as filling a gap. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
