About Stanley Park Road
We are a residential care home on Stanley Park Road in Wallington, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, people managing mental health conditions, and people with physical disabilities. We also offer respite stays. Our starting point is that this is where people live rather than where they have been placed. People arrange their own rooms, have a real say in the food and the shopping, and are involved in how the household runs. Where somebody can do a thing themselves, our job is to make that possible rather than to do it faster on their behalf, even when the quicker route is tempting on a busy morning. Where somebody wants a job, a course, a club or simply a regular place to go, we treat that as the purpose of our support rather than an extra added on. We are careful about routine and about explaining change in good time. For many of those living here, knowing what is happening and who will be on shift is what makes a day workable rather than difficult, so we do not rearrange things casually. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking the people who live here what they would change about the place, and we act on what we are told rather than filing it.
