About Mayfield House
Mayfield House is a residential care home in Walton on Thames, Surrey. We support older people and younger adults, and we offer both permanent places and respite stays for those needing care for a short period or whose family carer needs a break. The people who live here need a wide range of help. Many need support with personal care, mobility, medication and meals. A number are living with dementia, and for them we keep the day familiar, keep the same staff around and work at their pace rather than ours. We support people living with mental ill health, working alongside community mental health colleagues, people with physical disabilities, where equipment and access decide how much somebody can do for themselves, and people living with sight or hearing loss. We want to be honest with you about where we stand. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather set that out plainly than have you come across it elsewhere. We understand what the inspectors raised with us, we are working through it, and we will discuss any part of it with families, professionals and the people who live here. What we are working towards is a house that feels like a home: food cooked here, somewhere quiet as well as somewhere sociable, and visitors welcome without appointment. Please come and see us.
