About Ridgeway Manor Residential Care Home
Ridgeway Manor is a residential care home in Oxted, Surrey. Those living here include older people, many living with dementia, people managing mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people living with sight or hearing loss. We support younger adults too, and we offer respite stays. Most of what makes a care home good happens quietly and every day. Food people want to eat. Being helped to the bathroom without waiting. Laundry that comes back. Knowing who is on this evening. Somebody noticing that you have been quieter than usual. That is where we try to keep our attention. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would rather write that here than have a family discover it elsewhere and wonder why we said nothing about it. We accept what was identified and we are working through it. We will not claim in a paragraph that everything is resolved, because that is not something we could honestly promise. What we would ask is that anybody considering us comes without an appointment, sees the place on an ordinary afternoon, talks to residents and relatives out of our hearing, and presses us on what has changed and what has not yet. That is a fairer test than anything written here.
