About SeeAbility - The Willows
We are The Willows in Leatherhead, Surrey, a residential care home run by SeeAbility. We support adults who have a learning disability, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities and people with visual or hearing impairment, including younger adults, and we also offer respite stays for shorter periods. Sight loss alongside a learning disability or a physical disability changes what good support looks like, and a great deal of our attention goes there. We learn how each person uses the sight they have, we keep the house arranged so that it can be navigated with confidence, and we never move things or change a routine without telling people first. Communication is adapted to the individual rather than the other way round. Support is planned one person at a time. We help with personal care where it is wanted, with cooking, laundry and shopping, with medication and appointments, and with the practical business of running a home. We also support people to get out locally, to keep up the activities they enjoy and to stay close to family and friends. Where someone wants more independence, we work towards it at their pace. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We would rather be judged on whether the people living here feel genuinely at home and have a real say in their support.
