About Manor Care Home
Esher Manor Care Home is a residential care home in Esher, Surrey, caring for older people including many living with dementia. We also take respite bookings for people who need a stay of a few weeks, whether to recover after hospital or to give a family carer a proper break. We aim to run an unhurried home. People get up when they choose, keep their own belongings around them, eat food worth sitting down to and spend the day as suits them. There is company and activity for those who want it and quiet for those who do not, and nobody is pushed into either. With dementia, steadiness does most of the work. Familiar staff, a predictable routine, calm surroundings and time given rather than rushed. We learn about people's earlier lives so that conversation has somewhere to go, and where somebody becomes distressed we look for the cause rather than reaching for a label. Our staff know the people living here, which is how a change in health gets noticed early and taken to the GP or district nurse before it turns serious. We keep close working relationships with local health colleagues around Esher. Families are welcome whenever suits them and are part of how decisions get made. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. Please ring if you would like to look round.
