About Broads View
Broads View is a residential care home in Beccles, Suffolk. We support older people and younger adults, including people with a learning disability and people who are autistic, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Because the people who live here have very different lives, support is worked out individually rather than around a house routine. People choose their own food, keep their own habits, have a say in what happens here and are supported to get out locally and keep up with family and friends. Our team is expected to learn how each person communicates, including those who do not use speech, and to notice the signs that somebody is uncomfortable, bored or unwell. When a person becomes distressed, we look for the cause rather than trying to manage the behaviour. Practical help with washing, dressing, medication and mobility is given discreetly and in the way each person prefers, and we check that we have got it right rather than assuming. Respite stays are planned in advance, usually with a visit or two beforehand, so that a short stay is a break rather than an upheaval for everybody concerned. If you would like to look round, or to talk about a permanent place or a respite stay, please get in touch and we will arrange a time that suits you.
