About R M P Care - 20 Longton Road
We are a small residential home on Longton Road in Stone, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, including younger adults. Because there are only a few people living here, the place works as a household. Everyone has their own room and their own things, and decisions about the week are made between the people who live here and the staff who support them. What is cooked, when the shopping is done, who wants to go out and where to, whether the television is on or off: these are small matters that add up to whether somebody feels at home or merely accommodated. Support is built around what each person wants to be able to do. That might be a job, a college course, a regular volunteering day, or it might be learning to cook something new, going to a match, keeping in touch with family or handling money with a hand from staff. We take the long view, since progress in this work is usually gradual. Predictability matters a great deal here, so we keep staffing as settled as we can and explain changes in advance rather than springing them. Respite stays are available as well as longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place for yourself or a member of your family, please come and visit and meet the people who live here.
