About Priory Highfields
Priory Highfields is a residential care home in Burntwood, Staffordshire, supporting adults with a learning disability or autism and people with a visual or hearing impairment. It is a home rather than a placement, and we try to make sure it feels that way to everybody living here. Support is planned individually. It can include help with personal care, medication, cooking, laundry, managing money and getting to appointments, and it takes in the parts of life that matter just as much: friendships, going out, keeping up an interest and having something worthwhile in the week. We communicate in whatever way suits each person, and we give people the time to do things their own way rather than stepping in for the sake of speed. Where somebody wants greater independence, support is planned to draw back as their confidence grows. Most of the people we support are younger adults. Respite stays are available too, giving family carers a real break and letting somebody try the house before anything permanent is decided. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We would sooner tell you that ourselves, and the areas identified are where our effort is going. Please visit, meet the people who live here and ask us about it directly.
