About Chalkwell Grange
Chalkwell Grange is a residential care home in Leigh on Sea, offering older people and younger adults a comfortable place to live with support always close at hand. We try to keep the feel of a household rather than an institution, with days led by the people living them. Supporting residents living with dementia is a large part of our work. We do that by learning who each person is, keeping routines familiar and the day unhurried, explaining changes before they happen, and looking for the cause when somebody is unsettled rather than treating it as behaviour to be managed. We also support people living with a physical disability and people who have sight or hearing loss, where our aim is to take the obstacle out of the way rather than narrow what somebody does. Our team helps with personal care, medication, mobility and meals, and equally with the parts of the day that give it value: conversation, company for those who want it, quiet for those who do not, and time outdoors when the weather allows. Rooms are personalised and relatives are welcome whenever they can come. Respite stays are available for people needing care for a short period. If you are looking at care homes in this area, please come and see us on an ordinary day and ask us whatever you like.
