About Marine Park View
Marine Park View is a care home in South Shields. We provide residential care for older people and younger adults, and we support people living with dementia, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people managing a mental health condition. Respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Supporting that range of people under one roof works only if nobody is treated as a category. What a younger autistic adult wants from a week bears almost no relation to what an older person living with dementia needs from it, and planning that lumps them together fails both. So we sit down with each person, work out what their week should actually contain, and arrange staffing around that rather than the reverse. Residents decide how their own day runs. When to get up, where to spend it, how much company they want and whether to join whatever is going on. Rooms belong to the people in them, and visitors come without appointment. Where somebody has lived with a mental health condition for years, we start from what they tell us works. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are considering a placement in South Tyneside, please come and visit and talk to the people living here.
