About Cleadon Court
Cleadon Court is a residential care home in South Shields supporting adults living with mental health conditions, people with physical disabilities and people with sight or hearing loss. Many of the people here are younger adults, and we also offer respite stays. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is requires improvement. We are saying so at the start rather than leaving it for somebody to discover. We know which areas were identified, work is under way on them, and we will go through the detail honestly with anybody who asks. Much of what helps in this work is structural rather than clinical. Somewhere stable to live with a door that shuts. Meals at reliable times. A week with enough shape to give a reason to get up. People around who notice a change in mood without turning it into a crisis. A team that treats a difficult stretch as something to get through together rather than as a failed placement. We work alongside community mental health teams and, where people want it, with families, so that everybody holds the same picture. Please come and visit, meet the people who live here and form your own view of the home.
