About Northfield House
Northfield House is a residential care home in Williton, Somerset. We support older people who need help through the day, adults with a learning disability, autistic adults, and people with a physical disability. Some of the people living with us are younger adults, and respite stays are available alongside permanent places. That mix shapes how we run the house. There is no single timetable everybody follows. Some of the people here go out to college, work or a club during the week and come back with plenty to say about it. Others prefer the quiet of their own room and the garden, and that is an equally reasonable way to spend a day. We work out what each person's day ought to look like and then make the house fit around it rather than the other way round. Williton is a small Somerset village near the Quantocks and the coast. Staff are mostly local and tend to stay a long while, which does more for the people living here than any amount of decoration. Support plans are agreed with the person and written so the person can read them, and when something is not working we change it rather than defending it. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Come and visit and talk to the people who live here.
