About Wembdon Rise
Wembdon Rise is a residential care home in Bridgwater, Somerset, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autism, including younger adults starting out in their own adult lives. We run this as a home, not a placement. The people here decide what their rooms look like, what is on the menu, how the week is shaped and what they want to do with it. Our staff are there to make those things happen, with support that might involve personal care, help with money and appointments, encouragement to try something new, or just a steady presence in the background while somebody gets on with it. Autism support is worked out person by person. We pay attention to sensory needs, to how much notice somebody wants before a change, and to the ways people tell us they are uncomfortable that are nothing to do with words. What we learn is recorded properly so that support stays consistent whoever is on shift. Being part of Bridgwater matters. We support people to get out to college, work, clubs, the shops and the places they simply like being, and to keep up the relationships that were there before they came to us. Respite stays are available as well, giving families a planned break and giving the person staying some new company. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please get in touch if you would like to visit.
