About Caretech Community Services - Yorkminster Drive
We are Yorkminster Drive, a residential care home in Solihull run as part of Caretech Community. We support adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people managing a mental health condition and people with a physical disability, and we offer respite stays. Where a learning disability and a mental health condition sit together in the same person, support that addresses only one of them will not hold up. So we plan around the person, and we take time to find out what actually helps on a good day and on a difficult one rather than working from the diagnosis. Predictability does a great deal of the rest. Saying what will happen and when, and then being right, is worth more than reassurance. Where a routine matters to somebody we protect it, and where the environment causes difficulty we change the environment rather than expecting the person to put up with it. For people with a physical disability the practical details count: unhurried support, equipment set up properly, and asking how things are best done. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
