About Wheatlands
Here at Wheatlands, we offer a warm and welcoming home for older people in the heart of Much Wenlock, one of Shropshire's most charming market towns. We believe that moving into a care home should feel like the beginning of something positive, and we work hard every day to make sure the people who live with us feel safe, comfortable and genuinely at home. We provide residential care and dementia care, and we also offer respite stays for those who need a short break or some support following a hospital discharge. Whether someone comes to us for a few weeks or makes Wheatlands their permanent home, we give the same level of attention and care to everyone who walks through our door. Our team knows many of our residents and their families well, and that familiarity matters enormously. It means we can spot when something is not quite right, when someone is having a harder day than usual, or when a small change might make a real difference to how a person feels. Good care is built on those everyday moments, not just on processes and paperwork. We are proud to hold a Good rating from the Care Quality Commission, which reflects the consistent effort our whole team puts in. We do not rest on that, though. We are always looking at how we can improve, whether that means how we support people living with dementia, how we involve families in care planning, or simply how we make mealtimes more enjoyable. Much Wenlock itself is a lovely place to be, and we make the most of that wherever we can, whether through trips out, connections with the local community, or simply enjoying the surroundings from our home.
