About Sunnydale
Sunnydale is a residential care home in Craven Arms, Shropshire. The people living here include older people and younger adults, people with a physical disability, people with sight or hearing loss, people managing mental health conditions or an eating disorder, and people working through difficulties with alcohol or drugs. Respite stays are available. That is a varied group, so support is agreed with each person rather than run to one pattern. People have their own rooms, their own belongings and their own routines, and they have a real say in how their days go. Many of those who come to us have had unsettled periods and a number of moves, so the first thing we try to offer is somewhere calm where nothing changes without warning and where people are treated as adults making their own decisions. For some people the aim is to work towards managing more independently, perhaps around cooking, money, appointments or getting back into work or study. For others it is reliable support that simply holds steady. Both are legitimate, and we try not to push people towards goals that are ours rather than theirs. We work closely with mental health, social work and health colleagues. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep examining our practice around privacy, choice and the way concerns are handled. If you are considering a place with us, please come and visit and meet the people who live here.
