Summer View
Summer View is a residential care home in West Bromwich, Sandwell (B70 0QY).
About Summer View
Ours is a residential care home in West Bromwich supporting adults with a learning disability and autistic adults. We think of it as a household rather than a service. People have their own rooms and their own things, keep their own hours where they can, and have a real say in how the week is arranged. Support is worked out with each person rather than handed to them. For some that means practical help with washing, dressing, cooking and looking after their own space. For others it is about getting out to college, work or the things they enjoy, managing money, and having someone steady alongside in situations that would otherwise feel too much. We take care to learn how each person communicates and what in their surroundings helps them feel settled, because getting those right prevents far more difficulty than any response afterwards. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family a planned break and can let someone get to know us gradually rather than all at once. We have not yet been given an overall rating by the Care Quality Commission. We would rather say that plainly than leave it unsaid, and we are happy to answer direct questions about how we work and how our staff are trained and supported. If you would like to visit and see whether this might suit, please get in touch and we will arrange a time.
