About St Pauls
St Pauls is a residential care home near Sheffield, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic adults, and people managing mental health conditions. Most of those living here are younger adults, and we also offer respite stays. Our work is less about doing things for people than about helping a life hold its shape. A routine worth getting up for, meals eaten properly, medication taken, and something in the week that belongs to the person rather than to their care. For many of those living here those ordinary rhythms have been hard to sustain alone, and a settled household of people who know you well is what makes them workable again. We are careful to keep this feeling like a home. People have their own space and their own routine, they come and go as adults, and they have a real say in how the place runs. Progress is uneven and does not follow a timetable, so we try to be steady rather than to push, and we do not treat a difficult week as a failure. Predictability matters here too, and we give notice of change rather than rearranging casually. Our overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We keep asking the people who live here what they would change about the place.
