About Gateway House
Gateway House is a residential care home in Sheffield, close to the Rotherham border. We support adults who need somewhere settled to live, including younger adults, people with a learning disability or autism, people living with a mental health condition, and people with a visual or hearing impairment. We also take respite bookings when a family carer needs a break or someone needs a short stay while other arrangements are sorted out. What we aim for is an ordinary life with the right support around it. That means people choosing how their day runs, keeping up with the things they did before they moved in, getting out into Sheffield, and having their own space to retreat to. Where somebody wants to build skills, whether that is cooking, managing money or travelling independently, we work at their pace rather than ours. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us requires improvement overall. We are not going to talk around that. We know which areas were flagged, we have a plan in place, and we would rather discuss it openly with families than have them find out later. Anyone considering a placement here is welcome to ask us directly what has changed. If you are looking for a residential or respite place in the Sheffield area, please come and see us. Visiting in person tells you far more about a home than anything written down.
