About Walsingham Support - Langdon Park
We are a residential home at Langdon Park in Teddington, supporting adults with learning disabilities and autistic people, including younger adults. The house runs as a household rather than an institution. People living here have their own rooms and their own belongings, and they take part in deciding how the place works: what is cooked, when meals happen, what gets bought and where everyone goes at the weekend. For adults who have often had decisions taken on their behalf, that ordinary degree of control is much of the point. Support is built around each person and what they want to be able to do, whether that is work, college, volunteering, getting out regularly, keeping up with family, managing money with a hand from staff or learning to do more around the house. Where somebody needs help with personal care, mobility or health appointments, we give it without taking over more of the task than is necessary. Predictability counts for a great deal here, particularly for autistic people, so we keep staffing as consistent as we can and try not to change arrangements without warning and explanation. Respite stays are available alongside longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place for yourself or someone in your family, please come and visit and ask us anything. We will be honest about whether we can support the needs you describe.
