About Holder House
Holder House is a residential care home in Abingdon. We support older people who need daily care and people living with mental health conditions, and we also support younger adults who need residential care. What we offer is a settled household and support that fits the person. People living here are not passing through a programme, they are living their lives, and our job is to back that up with as much independence as somebody wants and can manage. For one person that means support close by through the day; for another it means being left to get on with things and knowing that help is there when they ask. With a mixed group under one roof, we would rather run flexibly than impose a single routine on everybody. Respite stays are part of what we do as well, giving a family carer a genuine rest or supporting somebody through a spell of recovery. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We keep our own checks going in between, because standards are kept in the ordinary running of a house rather than on inspection day. If you are looking for a place or a short stay for yourself or someone in your family, please get in touch. You are welcome to come and see the house and meet the people here.
