About The Lodge
We at The Lodge are proud to offer a warm and welcoming residential care home in the heart of Scarborough, providing dedicated older person care for those who call our home their own. Nestled within the coastal charm of North Yorkshire, our setting brings together the comfort of familiar surroundings with the reassurance of professional support, giving families peace of mind whilst their loved ones enjoy each day. Our home sits within the YO postcode area of Scarborough, benefitting from the gentle rhythms of this well loved seaside town. Residents can enjoy the calm atmosphere of our home whilst remaining close to the community, coastline and countryside that make this corner of Yorkshire and the Humber so special. We have created an environment that feels genuinely homely, where comfort, dignity and companionship sit at the centre of daily life. At The Lodge, we specialise in residential care for older people, as well as offering respite care for those who need shorter stays. For many families, choosing a care home is one of the most important decisions they will ever make, and we understand the emotions involved. Our residential care is designed to support individuals who need help with the everyday tasks of living, from personal care and medication support to companionship and encouragement to enjoy hobbies and interests. In practice, this means our residents can relax knowing that kind, attentive support is always close at hand, whilst still being encouraged to live as independently as possible. Our respite care offering is particularly valued by families who provide care at home and need a trusted place for their loved one to stay for a short period. Whether the reason is a planned break, a holiday, recovery after a hospital stay, or simply the chance for a family carer to rest, we welcome respite guests with the same warmth and attention we give to our permanent residents. Everyone who stays with us becomes part of the wider family of The Lodge, sharing meals, activities and conversation with residents and team members alike. Following our most recent Care Quality Commission inspection in August 2023, The Lodge received an overall rating of Requires Improvement. We believe in being open and honest about this outcome. The inspection recognised strengths across several important areas, with our care rated Good, our effectiveness rated Good, and our responsiveness to residents rated Good. These ratings reflect the compassion, skill and commitment of our team, and the genuine relationships they build with the people who live here. The domains of Safe and Well led were identified as needing improvement, and we have taken this feedback seriously, using it as a foundation for meaningful change. We are actively working on strengthening these areas so that every aspect of life at The Lodge meets the high standards our residents and their families deserve. Choosing the right home is about more than a rating on a page. It is about finding a place where your loved one will feel safe, valued and truly cared for. If you are exploring residential or respite care in Scarborough for yourself or someone dear to you, we warmly invite you to get in touch, ask questions, and discover for yourself what life at The Lodge is like. Our door is always open, and we would be honoured to help your family take the next step with confidence and reassurance.
