About Sabre Court
Sabre Court is a residential care home in Scarborough, North Yorkshire. We support older adults and younger adults, including people living with mental health needs, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Supporting people with mental health needs well asks for steadiness rather than intensity. Good stretches and hard stretches are both part of life here, and we do not treat a difficult fortnight as a crisis or as a reason to overhaul everything somebody has got used to. We keep to what has been agreed, we keep talking, and we work alongside the other people involved in somebody's care rather than around them. Beyond that, this is simply where people live. Everyone has their own room and their own things, a real say in the food and the shape of the day, and help with washing, dressing, medication, money and appointments offered rather than imposed. What a person still manages themselves, they carry on managing. We keep the home connected to Scarborough. Going out, keeping up with family and friends, and holding on to existing interests are part of ordinary life here. Respite stays are available for anybody needing a short break or a chance to try the home first. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. You are welcome to visit and talk to the people who live here.
