About United Response - 47 Doublegates Green
47 Doublegates Green is a small residential care home in Ripon, part of United Response. We support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people with physical disabilities, and the fact that the house is small is central to how it works. Everybody knows everybody, changes get noticed quickly, and nobody becomes a case rather than a person. People living here have their own rooms, their own things and a genuine say in how the household runs. We spend time learning how each person communicates and what matters to them, because support that is not built on that is really only supervision. From there we look at what somebody wants from their week, whether that is work or college, seeing family and friends, getting out locally, or simply having a home that feels like theirs. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family a rest and give the person staying a change of company with support they can rely on. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We keep our own checks going between inspections, because standards are kept in the ordinary running of a house rather than on inspection day. If you are looking for a home or a short stay for someone you care about, please get in touch and come and see us.
