About Sunnyborough
We are a residential home in Goole supporting adults with learning disabilities, autistic people and people living with mental health conditions, including younger adults. The house is run as a household rather than a service. Everyone has their own room and their own things, and the week is worked out between the people who live here and the staff supporting them: what is cooked, when the shopping is done, who wants to go out and where to. For adults who have often had decisions taken on their behalf, that ordinary degree of control is central to what we are trying to do. Support is arranged around the individual. For some the priority is staying well: medication, appointments, noticing early when things are becoming difficult and having staff nearby who know them well enough to see it coming. For others it is about doing more, whether that means work, college, volunteering, managing money with a hand from us, or getting out regularly and keeping up with family. Predictability counts for a good deal, particularly for autistic people, so we keep staffing as settled as we can and explain changes before they happen. Respite stays are available alongside longer places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. If you are looking for a place for yourself or someone in your family, please come and visit and meet the people who live here.
