About Forest Hall
Forest Hall is a care home in North Tyneside providing residential support for adults with a learning disability or autism, including younger adults. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family carer a genuine break while the person staying with us has a change of scene and company. We see this as somebody's home first. People here have their own rooms, their own routines and their own say in how the day goes. Support is about making ordinary things possible, whether that is cooking a meal, managing money, keeping in touch with family, getting to a club or a college course, or having quiet time when the house feels busy. We follow the person's lead, however they communicate, and we pay close attention when somebody is telling us that something is not working. Being in Newcastle Upon Tyne means there is plenty within reach, and we encourage people to use the shops, parks and local groups rather than spending all their time indoors. We also work alongside families, social workers and health colleagues, since good support is rarely the work of one team on its own. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. We value that, and we keep looking at the detail of what we do rather than assuming it is settled. If you are considering a placement or a respite stay, please come and visit. Meeting the people who live here tells you far more than any description we could write.
