About Manor
Here at Shipdham Manor, we provide residential and dementia care for older people, younger adults, and those who need a shorter stay for respite. We are based in the village of Shipdham in Norfolk, and we take real pride in being part of this local community. We understand that choosing a care home is one of the most significant decisions a person and their family will ever make. It is rarely straightforward, and we do not treat it as though it is. When someone comes through our doors, whether for a permanent home or a temporary stay to recover or give a family member some rest, we want them to feel that this is a place where they genuinely belong. Our team works hard to know each resident as an individual. What matters to one person will be completely different to what matters to another, and we think that is exactly as it should be. We work alongside residents and their families to understand routines, preferences, and the small things that make daily life feel comfortable and familiar. For those living with dementia, we know how important the environment and the people around you are. Our approach focuses on maintaining dignity and supporting independence wherever possible, while making sure people feel safe and at ease throughout the day. We are pleased that our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission resulted in an overall rating of good. That matters to us, not simply as a formal recognition, but because it reflects the effort and care that our team brings to their work every day. If you would like to find out more about Shipdham Manor, or you would like to arrange a visit, we would be very happy to hear from you. We always welcome families who want to come and see us for themselves.
