About Portland Street

Portland Street is a small residential care home in King's Lynn. We support adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people living with mental health conditions, and being small is central to how the house works. Everybody knows everybody, changes get noticed quickly, and nobody turns into a case rather than a person. The people who live here have their own rooms, their own belongings and a real say in how the household runs. We take time to learn how each person communicates and what matters to them, because support that is not built on that is only supervision. From there we look at what somebody wants from their week, whether that is work, college, seeing people, getting out locally, or simply having a home that feels properly theirs. We also offer respite stays, which can give a family a rest and give the person staying a change of company with support they can rely on. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission was good. We keep our own standards under review in between, because they are held in the ordinary running of a house rather than on inspection day. If you are looking for a home or a short stay for someone you care about, please get in touch and come and see us.
