About The Vineries
The Vineries is a residential care home in Great Yarmouth. We provide care for older people and younger adults, including people living with dementia and those with physical disabilities. Respite stays are available. We aim to run a household rather than a facility. Residents bring their own furniture and photographs, keep the routines they have always had and decide for themselves how much they want to be part of what is going on. Nobody is marched off to an activity they have not chosen. When somebody moves in we spend real time on their history and preferences, from what time they wake and how they take their tea to the work they did and the people who matter to them. It is written down so that everybody working here knows it, because care that changes with whoever is on shift is not care we would accept for our own families. Dementia support rests on familiarity and pace. We keep staffing as consistent as we can, avoid unnecessary change and work out what settles a particular resident, since it is rarely the same for two people. For residents with physical disabilities we look at equipment and at how the building is arranged so that independence is protected where it can be. Meals are cooked on the premises and residents have a genuine say in the menu. Visitors are welcome through the day. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please come and look round whenever suits you.
