About Ellenbrook House
Ellenbrook House is a residential home in Luton supporting younger adults, including people living with an eating disorder. We are a small house by design, because the atmosphere in a place like this matters as much as anything written in a care plan. Our approach is patient rather than pressured. Where food and eating are difficult, we work closely with the health teams involved, follow the agreed plan carefully, and keep mealtimes as calm and ordinary as we can. We do not turn the kitchen into a battleground, and we do not pretend the difficulty is not there. Beyond that, life here is meant to be a life. People have their own room, a say in how the house runs, and support to keep going with education, work, family and friendships rather than putting everything on hold. We agree the plan with the person directly, in language they can follow, and we review it as things move on, which they do. Respite stays are available as well, which can give a family carer a break or give somebody a change of scene with support they can rely on. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. If you are looking for somewhere for yourself or for a relative, please get in touch and come and see the house for yourself.
