About PACO Rehabilitation Services
PACO Rehabilitation runs a residential care home in Lewisham supporting adults with a learning disability, autistic adults and people with mental health needs, including many younger adults. Our purpose is to help people move on in their own lives rather than to settle into being looked after. That means we work on what somebody is trying to build. For one person it is confidence with cooking, budgeting and running a home. For another it is getting out locally, using transport, keeping a course or a job going, or repairing contact with family. Where a lot of help is needed we give it without fuss, and where somebody needs us to step back we do that too, which is often the harder part. Because the people living here have very different needs, we plan support individually and pay close attention to how each person communicates, what unsettles them and what helps them settle again. For residents with mental health needs a calm, predictable household does more good than anything written in a plan, and we work closely with local services and doctors. Our staff are trained in communication and in supporting somebody who is distressed, and we keep the team as consistent as we can. Respite stays are available and give family carers a proper break. Please get in touch if you would like to see the house.
