About Olive Place
Olive Place is a residential care home in Lewisham supporting adults living with mental health conditions, including older people and younger adults. Respite stays are available alongside longer term places. Our most recent inspection by the Care Quality Commission rated us good overall. We are a home rather than a unit, and we work to keep that distinction real. There is no set time to get up, no obligation to sit in the communal areas and no need for anyone to explain how they want to spend an afternoon. Residents keep their own belongings, arrange their rooms as they wish and have a genuine say in meals, activities and the way their support is provided. The support we give is practical rather than clinical. A predictable routine for those who find one steadying, somewhere quiet to go when things feel overwhelming, help with appointments, medication and money, and staff who notice early when someone is not themselves. We work closely with community mental health teams, GPs and social workers so that nothing falls between us. Recovery rarely runs in a straight line and we stay with people through the difficult stretches as well as the good ones. Where someone is working towards greater independence, we plan for it properly rather than letting them settle into being looked after. If you would like to visit, meet the team and ask whatever you need to, please get in touch.
