About Glenfield
Glenfield is a residential care home near Leicester supporting adults with learning disabilities, autistic adults, people with physical disabilities, people with loss of sight or hearing, and people living with mental health conditions. Most of the people living here are younger adults. We treat the house as belonging to the people who live in it. They arrange their own rooms, take part in the shopping and cooking as much as they want to, and decide how their days are spent. We support people to get out to work, to college, to clubs, to appointments and to see family. Support is individual and agreed with the person. Communication gets particular attention here, and we use speech, signing, symbols, objects of reference or simply the understanding that comes from living alongside somebody. Where somebody has sensory loss we adapt how we approach and announce ourselves and how rooms are lit, because those adjustments decide whether a person is genuinely included. Short respite stays are available alongside permanent places. Our most recent rating from the Care Quality Commission is good. Please contact us if you would like to visit.
