About Cranmer Court
Cranmer Court is a residential care home in Leeds supporting older people, adults with a learning disability and autistic adults, people with a physical disability and people with a visual or hearing impairment. Respite stays are available as well as permanent places. With that range of people living here, the way we work has to be genuinely individual. We take time to learn how each person communicates, what they can do for themselves, where they want a hand and what makes a day harder, and we set that out clearly so everyone supporting them works from the same understanding. Where someone has a physical disability, a great deal of the quality of our care lies in the detail of how help is given rather than in whether it is given at all. Being assisted to wash, dress or move in a hurry is its own kind of loss, so we take our time and we treat people's preferences as instructions rather than suggestions. Where sight or hearing is poor we check that aids are working and adapt how we communicate. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
