About Brockholes Brow
We are Brockholes Brow, a residential care home in Preston supporting adults with a visual or hearing impairment. Our focus is deliberately narrow, and it shapes everything about how the house works. Sensory impairment is not something we accommodate around the edges of a general care home. It is the thing we are set up for, which means the building, the routines and above all the staff are organised around it. In practice that means people are approached and spoken with in the way they prefer, consistently, by everybody. It means the layout of rooms and belongings stays predictable unless the person wants it changed. It means information reaches people in a form they can actually use, and that nobody has decisions made about them simply because a conversation would take longer. Beyond that, the home is run around the people in it. People choose how their rooms look, what they eat and how they spend their days. Where somebody wants to take on more for themselves, we work at it at their pace rather than assuming a limit. We work closely with families, social workers and sensory support teams, and we offer respite stays as well as permanent places. Our most recent CQC overall rating is good. Please contact us if you would like to visit.
