About Bethany House
Bethany House is a residential care home in Preston. The people who live with us are older adults who have reached the point where managing alone had become hard work or simply lonely. Some move in permanently. Others come to us for respite, whether that is a planned break for a family carer, a few weeks of recovery after illness, or a trial stay for someone who is not sure yet. What we offer is an ordinary life with the difficult bits taken care of. Help with washing, dressing and medication given quietly and at the person's own pace. Meals cooked in our own kitchen, served without rush, with room for the person who wants toast late in the morning rather than a cooked breakfast early. Company for those who want it and peace for those who do not. We think a care home works when it keeps hold of who somebody was before they arrived. We ask about the work people did, the places they lived, the music they still like and the routines they will not give up, and we build the day around that rather than around ours. Relatives are welcome whenever suits them, and we would much rather hear a concern as it happens than at a review months later. Our most recent overall rating from the Care Quality Commission is good.
