About Barnfold Cottage Residential Home
Barnfold Cottage in Oswaldtwistle is a residential home providing care for older people, including those living with mental health conditions. We are a small home and we like it that way, because it means the people who live here are known properly rather than simply looked after. People choose when to get up and go to bed, where to spend their time and how much company they want, and they keep their own belongings around them. Staff help with washing and dressing, with moving about safely, with medication and with meals and drinks, and they do it without hurrying anybody. Where somebody is living with a mental health condition, what we offer above all is consistency and patience, with familiar staff, predictable days and close working with the professionals involved. Meals are cooked here and there is a real choice. We know the people living here well enough to notice when somebody is not themselves, and we involve the GP early rather than waiting. Respite and short stays can be arranged. If you would like to look round, please telephone us and we will arrange a time that suits you.
